Want to be in a research study involving Exercise?

Why should I participate?
Project WOW! is designed for people 18 – 65 who have been using a manual wheelchair for at least 6 months, but are not involved in an exercise program. If you qualify, and are interested in finding out how exercising might improve your health and sense of well-being, this is a perfect opportunity.
What are the requirements?
In addition to those just mentioned, you need to live in the Lawrence or Kansas City metro area, agree to have 4 fitness evaluations in a year, and not have a medical condition that would prevent you from exercising.
What do I need to do?
Sign a consent form, allow a WOW staff member to contact your primary physician to get their written permission for you to participate, fill out a survey, accept information about getting more physical activity, and visit the KU Medical Center 4 times for the fitness tests.
What else should I know?
You will be paid $25 for your visits to the KU Medical Center, and your transportation costs will be covered.
How do I sign up?
Call us at 913-588-7382 or email us at projectwow@ku.edu. We’ll be glad to answer your other questions, too.
